Dear The US of A,
Please stop making judgments about people from other countries when you seriously lack any understanding of cultural context.
It has recently been reported that many Americans found this Australian KFC ad (posted online without KFC's permission) racist and offensive.
Obviously the Americans who deemed this racist do not understand the rivalry between the Australian and West Indies cricket teams.
The man in the ad does not call his situation 'awkward' because he's a white man surrounded by black people. It's because he's an Australian at a cricket game, surrounded by fans from the rival team (West Indies)! So to diffuse this potentially awkward situation, he shares his KFC. He feels awkward because he's surrounded by fans of the opposite team. Wouldn't an LA Dodgers fan feel awkward surrounded by NY Mets fans at a Dodgers vs Mets baseball game?
Many thanks,
Australians who found the ad funny

But fried chicken is black man food...
It's pretty obviously a cricket-oriented ad.
I can't believe KFC caved.
KFC should make a similar ad with a man surrounded by obese Americans who are silenced with fast food.
