- When you email Enrolment Help (or anyone else), please, please include your ID number. Not your jc computer username. Your ID number. The Subject Code of any subjects giving you dramas would help, too.
- If you've activated your computer account, send your email from your JCU account. We can't send personal enrolment information to non-JCU accounts.
- If you're going to call Enrolment Help, have your ID number nearby. If it's an online enrolment issue, have the computer turned on in front of you. We can't step you through the process if you don't have the website in front of you.
- Read. Please. If you try to enrol in a subject and it comes up with an error, read the error. Nine times out of ten it will tell you what is stopping you from enrolling. If you're trying to activate your computer account and something doesn't seem to be working, you'll see it says "If you run into any trouble please contact Infohelp". This means contact Infohelp, not Enrolment Help, not General Enquiries. Read instructions so you know what to do.
Other Hints for Enrolling
- Familiarise yourself with JCU's terminology
- Figure out what subjects you want to do before attempting to enrol online. Use your Course Enrolment Planner to do that. If you've looked at your CEP and still can't decide which subjects to do, contact your faculty to talk to an Academic Advisor or contact Enrolment Help to book into an Enrolment Help Session.
- If you have technical problems (your password/user name is not working; websites seem to be breaking or getting technical errors, etc) call/email InfoHelp
- If you know what subjects you should be doing but eStudent doesn't appear to let you enrol, call/email eStudent Support (aka Enrolment Help).
- Once you've filled out your eCAF (electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form), wait 2 working days before proceeding with the enrolment process. Yes, the website tells you to wait. Do people read that? No.
- You won't be able to enrol in your subjects until you have returned your Offer Response form and submitted your eCAF. And then waited 2 days.
