Please don't post any comments which question the validity of an FML without any proof (accusing the original poster of submitting a fake story based solely on your own personal intuition isn't very fair)
also means do not suggest a post is not an FML. (ie. that it is not worthy of being complained about).
Questioning the validity of an FML, according to the rules, is when you accuse someone of posting a fake story ("accusing the original poster of submitting a fake story based solely on your own personal intuition isn't very fair"). I did not do that. Perhaps you should change your rules because at the moment there is nothing forbidding what I did.
They didn't take very kindly to me suggesting they hadn't done something well.
Thanks for pointing out what we mean to say on OUR website. I've just explained to you why the comment is against the rules, do you want to argue some more, or just accept the explanation? ;-)
Apparently they forgot that THEY were the ones who told ME what they "mean" to say on their website. So I reminded them.
I'm not telling you what you mean to say. You told me. I'm just saying it doesn't come across very clearly in the rules. And obviously a lot of other people don't think there's anything wrong with saying "not an FML" because I've seen hundreds of those comments, so obviously other users don't think it's against the rules either.
It's only fair that if someone gets a warning for something, it is actually stated in the rules. I have read those rules several times before and never got the impression that saying "not an FML" was against the rules. So I'm just suggesting that in the section where you talk about questioning the validity of an FML, perhaps you could clarify it as not only suggesting someone has posted a fake story, but that it ALSO means saying someone's story is not worthy of being called an FML. Because I think users deserve to know that.
Apparently it finally hit home, and I got this reply.
I agree that the rules need to be changed so that it appears more clearly, so we'll probably do something about that. Thanks!
There's so much more I wish I could say but will refrain as I'll be more likely to get banned than an apology. But of course, it appears I am still stuck with the warning... for doing something the rules didn't clearly forbid.

Is this by any chance a government-run organisation?
Hahaha. No.
